The Lengua y Cultura Logo
The image of a Náhuatl-speaking woman symbolizes, in a powerful way, the role of Mexican women in passing on culture through oral history. We use this image, then, to represent Lengua y Cultura. The glyph placed near the mouth, tlahtolli, means ‘word’ or ‘speaking’. It is strongly iconic for the idea of narration, so it is incorporated in key locations in our memoirs and other works.
